Strong story told well
Four years later, though Kacey's body progressed and moved forward, her mind had not. The only thing keeping her motivated to try is the need to protect her younger sister Livie. That was also the motivation for Kacey and Livie to move from Michigan to Florida.
For some reason, in their new home Kacey began to change, despite resisting. This story is about the struggle of coming back to life after a tragedy and how we only learn to live again when we learn to let other people in.
K.A. Tucker does an excellent job telling the story of a broken woman, refusing to give up or break down. The character motivations and interactions are believable. The dialogue is strong and moves the story forward. It is a compelling read, with two great, though slightly predictable, twists at the end.
Tucker wraps everything up neatly, leaving no loose ends or illusions for a sequel. But that is okay. Ten Tiny Breaths is a story worth telling and Tucker told it in a way worth reading.
